Getting our "Green Thumb" on

To prevent being "that house" on the street, we recently went to the local nursery to get some plants and flowers. Adam took over this project while I tried to keep Holton entertained.

I always have my trusty Iphone to take pictures. Seeing this, Holton wanted to be in charge. Here is some of his photography while shopping for flowers. I gotta say I'm impressed with his first picture. The quality kind of goes down from there, but he is only 2 1/2.

Pictures of me looking this hot had to stop. So I got a couple cute ones of him.


Back at the house, we got to work right away. And I really did work! You all would have been very proud. I even pruned our trees. I must have been doing a less than stellar job since this guy came over and handed me his business card for his lawn service, which included trees. Oh well.

Vali was in the neighborhood and she stopped by to see Holton. Here he is in his favorite outfit....underwear and a t-shirt.

Gotta love the wind in Texas

We've been experiencing some crazy rain and wind in these here parts (Texas talk) the past couple weeks. How crazy you ask? Well, look what it did to our beautiful tree on the corner of our lot! This is the tree I first saw and loved when we were looking at our home.

So luckily Adam's step-brother John came over immediatley with a chain saw to help us clean up the mess. And what a mess it was! During this time people walked by and just stared at us. We were quite the talk of the neighborhood.

So like I said, people were walking by and just gawking at us during this time. One gal honestly said, "Oh, did you cut your tree?" Yes, yes we did. We thought this was a much better look! Here's your sign lady ;)
