All things Fall

I know I'm very behind on the blog and now I'm playing catch up!

Below are some pictures of Holton enjoying fall activities. OK, so you may not think he enjoyed himself by the stern look on his face, but I promise he did. He's been to two pumpkin patches and loves to say pumpkin over and over. And, he was very impressed with the Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin show last night. The big pumpkin at the start was very intriguing to him. He said - whoa, big pumpkin!

Dee, Kaylee, Holton and me went to a pumpkin patch at the Frisco Rough Riders stadium.

They were not thrilled with the idea of waiting in line. But, Holton was kind enough to hold Kaylee's bag. See - they are meant to be!

The kids scoping out the perfect pumpkin

Is it too early to plan their wedding? Seriously, Holton looks more interested in that tiny pumpkin and Kaylee was just enjoying the popcorn.

Bev and I took Holton to another pumpkin patch. If you notice, he needed help from Thomas the Train that day.

Yea, we didn't do this ride. Holton was ok with a photo op....and nothing more.

And, I enjoyed a little October festivities too! Last week I went to two great Halloween parties. I love seeing the different costumes......some were not fit for this blog.

Me as a 50's car hop, Teresa as a Margarita, and Jess as a sexy flight attendant.

Check out this hot guy we danced with at Robin's party.

He was very popular.

Random Pictures

I'm still waiting to download some pictures from our camera. We've been pretty busy with fall activities like the state fair, pumpkin patches, playing at the park etc. But here are some random photos in the meantime.

In early September we hit up the local fall festival. It was sooooo hot, but Holton loved this ride.

That's him at the top of the ladder about to go down the slide. He had no fear this day!

Adam's Uncle sent us this one. My two Hawaiian Guys!

Holton was very happy partying late into the night.

We have some great pictures from the State Fair, but here are a couple from my phone.

We went to a birthday/costume party on Sunday. Holton was a dinosaur with a pacifier and matching flashlight (a new twist on an old costume) and I'm a cave woman in a wind storm, with trendy, knock-off glasses.

It's no big deal, right?

I took Holton to the store to stock up on overnight diapers and I thought I'd treat to him to one new toy. He first picked up a great yellow school bus with kids inside. We were leaving the aisle when out of the corner of his eye he noticed a wall of pink and lavender. Seeing this I moved the cart quicker and quicker. But I was too slow.

Holton pushed his yellow shcool bus away and said "no bus"! He pointed and cried for the same exact toy, but in all pink! I could just hear Adam yelling "nooooooo" all the way from his golf trip in Vegas. So I put the yellow and the pink shcool bus side by side and let him choose. Well......

Holton even slept with this bus on Saturday night. Sorry Adam, I tried.

A ride and an insult

So last week I resorted to bribing my almost two year old. He needed a haircut so off we went to the mall. It was no coincidence we chose one that had a Thomas the Train store. So during his haircut, when he was less than enthusiastic, I just kept saying "choo choo train". Well it worked and the minute we were out of the barber chair Holton was headed for the train store.

Currently, choo choo trains are at the top of Holton's list of favorites. Here are his other faves:

• Toy ball
• Dinosaur
• Trucks/Cars
• Shamu
• Ice Cream

We did the train "ride" first. It circles around the store a couple of times. Holton of course wanted me to ride with him. Right before I sit down with him the kid running the machine says to me - just don't lean over too much to one side or it might tip over. Really? Really teenage kid working at a train store?

It looks like we were really trucking along here. Notice how straight my back was during the ride? No tipping for me!

Holton found a possible 2nd Birthday present.

It was so great to watch his face light up with all the Thomas toys. I just told Holton to never grow up like that lovely teenage boy. All in all, a good learning lesson, a good haircut and a happy Holton.

Hawaiian Holton

We recently attended a Hawaiian themed wedding reception for Adam's cousin, Ryan. The whole place was decked out with all things Hawaii. They had dancers, a great little Hawaiian band, lots of food and drinks and fun beach towels to take home. Holton really enjoyed watching the ladies dance!

My two handsome guys

I think this is when Holton was trying to get a better view of the Hawaiian dancers. He enjoyed the ladies shaking their hips ;)

Holton with his Na Na and Pa Pa

Here he is chowing down on yummy watermelon with Adam's Aunt Yvonee, aka "Nonny". We love seeing her and Roy.

Holton really enjoyed the food! Takes after me!

Do you think he was trying to be sneaky about who he was watching dance?

Three generations of King men before we all headed back home.

Shamu has a new fan

Since we were in San Antnio we decided we should go to Sea World for our niece's 9th Birthday. Although it was very hot, we had a good time watching Holton enjoy all the sights. We are already thinking about our return trip to see Shamu......but maybe we'll going in November ;)

Holton loved seeing Shamu and kept saying his/her name over and over again. Whenever Shamu would go under the water Holton would hold up his arms and say "go?". He was very worried about Shamu's welfare.

The group was a little hot waiting for the show.

Me and Holton and my dad in the background looking like a Private Investigator with his new hat.

My cousin Johnna with her cute baby boy, Griffin. They came all the way from Wyoming to hang with us. Do you love his pacifier?

Eric, Lucie (also from Wyoming) and Johnna. Dee and my future daughter in law Kaylee. And finally my P.I. Dad observing all.

The dolphin show was another favorite for Holton.

Notice how he's looking so intently to see what tricks the dolphins will do next? He would not take his eyes off that show!

After a long, hot day at Sea World we had dinner on the River Walk for Kiersten's Birthday.

Happy Late B-Day, Kiersten!

The Reception...amazing!

I'm late in posting this one, but I've been out of town for a while. Ok, so the reception was so fantastic. It was at the Pearl Stable in San Antonio and it was the first time I've been to a reception (other than mine) that I didn't want the night to end. Patrick and Amanda had the best band I've ever seen at a reception. They are called Blind Date and they are from Austin. If you are having a wedding, a birthday party, heck even a divorce party you should totally get them! They absolutely made the party.

And my other favorite thing about the night was the food! Oh my goodness Amanda's parents pulled out all the stops! They had a sushi bar, an avocado bar, and all these great other food stations set up all over the venue. It was great to go to each little thing and try out all the good eating. I probably gained 5 pounds in one night.

Now, back to the great band and dancing. Our sweet little Holton loved watching the band. And he also had a blast dancing with his girlfriend, Kaylee. Her mom is one of my best friends and we are convinced our kids will get married. Ha!

And speaking of dancing, our niece Kiersten was so adorable dancing on stage with the band. She is probably all over the video from the reception. That little girl has some energy!

Anyway, Dennis and Cindy put on a fantastic celebration for Patrick and Amanda. It was a blast. Enjoy the pictures.
The wedding cake

Patrick's groom cake, in the shape of a bass!

Cutting the cake with the best man (aka Butthead) looking on with pride.

Their first dance as a married couple!

Our family. We were so proud to see our little guy all dressed up!

With our great friends from up north! Eric, Heather, Darren, Kristi, Bev and me. Kristi looked great pregnant.

Blind Date with their two biggest fans.

Our family with Vali, Adam's mom. She partied the night away with us.

Holton and Kaylee dancing. He got jealous at one point when she danced with the preacher's son.

Na Na and Pa Pa with our friends from Arkansas, Roni and her dad Ron.

Holton and me busting a move on the dance floor.

Patrick with our cousin Erica, our friend Roni & me.

They even danced up on the stage by the end of the night.

Dee and me with our future bride and groom.

Love this picture. Bev, Amanda, and me dancing while Patrick looks at us like we've had one too many.

The reception venue had an upstairs and downstairs. Holton loved making good use of the stairs.

Adam, Clayton and the band. Don't they all look cool!

Leaving the reception.

They were off to enjoy their honeymoon in St. Lucia.

A tired Adam and me at the end of the night. We couldn't have asked for a better time at the Pearl Stable.
