Weston's World

Our last post didn't have too much about Weston, so how about we give our little guy some attention!

Weston is 10 months old now! So what is new in his world? Let's see....

• He's not yet walking, but we do catch him standing on his own for a few moments.
• He is into everything and totally keeps you on your toes - he gives you a very good work out.
• Food is still a big deal to him. Some of his favorites are macaroni and cheese, blueberries, his cousin Sutton's birthday cake and whatever you are willing to share!
• He now loves to scream and growl with an attentive audience.
• Sesame Street seems to catch his attention....for a few minutes.
• Last week he had his first experience with the stomach bug. Poor fella was sick all night long but seemed to bounce back a couple days later.
• I've never seen such a daddy's boy baby, but Weston is for sure. And everyone says he's Adam's little twin.
• He is still such a joy to us!

Lego Land, Texas Style

To wrap up our weekend with our friends from Arkansas we went to Lego Land. I was immediately impressed seeing that they had a tribute to the Mavericks.

The only group shot I got of the kids playing with legos as we were waiting to go inside. Holton, Hunter, Tanner & some other kid.

Holton and I enjoyed this fun Harry Potter ride. The faster you peddle the higher up you go. And I'm happy to say Holton wasn't scared at all when we went all the way up!

Check out all the cool Dallas and Ft. Worth sites made out of legos.

Holton had such a great time at Lego Land with his friends!! We will take Weston when he's a bit older.

Friday Fun Day

Our friends from good ole Arkansas came to visit us recently. Roni, her husband Tyler & their kids Hunter and Tanner came to the burbs of Big D for a weekend.

So Friday we got out of the house and took in some sight seeing. What kind? Well....IKEA! Roni really wanted to go because they don't have one in Arkansas! Makes me kinda think twice about taking our lovely stores for granted.

Tyler is crazy! Here he is doing his best Burt Reynolds on the rug.

Then Adam, Tyler, Roni & me all headed to Ft. Worth for the night. Adam got us hotel rooms so we could really live it up....with no kids ;)

Of course we had to hit up Billy Bob's. We just had to take advantage of all the touristy photo ops.

And we got to see the greatness of Charlie Robison. I'm slightly obsessed with him...

After the show we got our pictures with Charlie!

It was such a fun night. And it sure didn't hurt that I got Charlie's autograph and look - I made him giggle.

We had a great night out. A big thanks to my mom for watching 4 kids and 3 dogs!

Look what I can do!

Weston learned how to clap today. Not sure when or where he picked this up. He proudly displayed his new talent at dinner tonight. Too cute :)

Of course Holton wanted to join in the action.

Mavs Mania

In case you may have forgotten, or blocked it out, our Dallas Mavericks are officially the world champions! All I can say is the King household was totally taken over by Mavs Mania.

The day the Mavericks flew back to Dallas, Adam let Holton play hooky so they could go welcome the Mavs home.

Holton is his new championship gear.

And here are few pictures Adam took of the Mavs arriving back in the Big D!

Like I said, we were all consumed with the Mavericks. So of course we had to take Holton downtown for the big parade that Mark Cuban generously paid for....good ole Dallas is broke!

The crowd was unreal! We couldn't believe the number of people down there. So we ducked out a little early and enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch. But it was a once in a lifetime thing & we were so happy to share it with Holton.

Growing up too fast - 9 months!

Before we know it, Weston is going to be one! Can't believe how fast his first few months are just flying by us.

Here are some fun facts about our baby!
• He's the best eater! We are now in the table food phase & he likes it all!
• If he sees you eating, he reaches for your food and makes sure that you share.
• He's still very tall - in the 93rd percentile.
• He is the happiest baby and is still a great sleeper for us.
• He is crawling like crazy!
• He is constantly holding a little plastic bat.
• He loves to try and play with his big brother.

Learning to swim

Holton just wrapped up his first ever swim lessons. For 2 weeks he was instructed on the basics of safety, putting his head under water, kicking, etc. He really enjoyed it and was very proud to show off his skills.

A minute long video of him in action

But did I mention it's extremely hot in Texas during the summer? We've been rocking the 100+ temps so Holton was just dying for a nice snow ball treat. Here is our little beginner swimmer.
