We are classy

Where does our family head for some good quality fun? Bass Pro Shops of course! Camo, beef jerkey, guns and fish coozies all in one place, you just can't beat it. Anyway, Holton continued his fascination with pretend driving in the huge 4 wheelers that were on sale this weekend.

And, where do you go to get your first ever picture with Santa? That's right - Bass Pro Shops! There was surpisingly no line....hmmm?

Forgive the fuzzy picture. It's from my phone.

He can't walk, but he can drive

Britney Spears has nothing on us! Check out these pics of Holton driving in Sulphur Springs. Hey, when you go to to East Texas for Thanksgiving, you get to act a little country!

Notice the blurry trees. See, he's really driving.

He giggled the whole time. He loves the open road!

Exciting Announcement!

Patrick and Amanda are engaged! Holton will soon have an Aunt! Hooray!

Patrick proposed to Amanda last night and he asked me to help him decorate his house while they were at dinner. I was so nervous, I felt like I was the one doing the proposing ;) I took a few pictures of the happy couple and then high tailed it home as it was way past my bed time (10:15)!

Congratulatiions to Patrick and Amanda! Adam and I couldn’t be happier that Amanda will soon be a part of our family. She will make a fantastic Aunt!

What a Sunday

We took Holton to church on Sunday. Taking your child to church is an entirely unique experience. We got him all dressed up, were wise in selecting a seat in the very back, sat next to Patrick and Amanda and brought plenty of toys and liquids to entertain him. Well, apparently Holton felt extremely comfortable in church.

Right after the part where you introduce yourself to the others seated around you, right when they started a prayer, Holton started jabbering. He was so loud! He just kept talking and talking so Adam had to make a quick escape. I guess Holton wanted to share a few things with the congregation. I could still hear Holton chattering in the hallway. Poor Adam was out there with all the other annoyed fathers who said things like – "How long did yours last in there?"

Don't let this fool you. He was just resting for his big debut.

Anyway, we all then had lunch at a trendy Dallas restaurant. So trendy that they had to get their high chair out of storage. Holton was their first baby!

Could he be any more unimpressed with having his picture taken?

After an exciting Sunday, he wanted to get more comfortable and let loose. I call this his tribute to Risky Business!

Happy Birthday, Holton!

It’s so hard to believe that our baby is one today. I’ve always heard parents say the time goes so quickly and they are right! I can’t imagine how he’ll change in the next 12 months. (Let’s hope he’ll get back to sleeping in his own bed for starters).

Adam and I are very thankful to have a healthy Holton. He’s growing and changing so much each day. We agree that he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us and we couldn’t be prouder. So, for his 1st ever birthday, I thought it would be fun to look back at some old pictures. Enjoy!

1st Birthday Party!!

Holton will be one tomorrow (we can't believe it) but we celebrated his 1st birthday on Saturday. It was such a blast!! Our theme was Baby Einstein because that is the one thing that will make Holton stop whatever he's doing and pay attention. He wasn't too sure about his little birthday cake and all the people watching him eat, but he had a great time playing with his new toys.

So many of our friends and family came in to celebrate and we really appreciated it! That day was so special to Adam and me. Having everyone we love with us made it even more special - thank you! Here are just a few of the pictures below.

Holton's first Halloween

This year was so much fun! Being first time parents, we were really looking forward to Halloween. We had a busy day. First, Holton's school had a little party where all the kids wore their costumes and ate food. (See something wrong with that idea). Then, we had plans to go over to our friend's house for Holton's first ever attempt at trick-or-treating. Holton is soooo like Adam, it isn't funny. When people put candy in his little pumpkin bucket, he would just stare at them. He was like, that's it? No smile, no giggle, just a look of confusion. It was hilarious. Not sure if Holton was really impressed, but we sure loved seeing him in his cute little giraffe costume.

This is at the school party. He had his first ever cupcake.

Candy not so impressive, but give me a slinky and I'm happy.

Holton kind of blends in, doesn't he? Adam is tired after handing out candy.
