Look who turned 4!

We celebrated Holton's 4th birthday on Saturday. It's so hard to believe he's already 4-time is going by so quickly!

He's really into the Super Hero thing right now. Holton wanted his cake to have three Super Hero fellas - Iron Man, Spider Man and Batman.

Adam made sure he had balloons to match

And Holton had his own super hero themed birthday shirt

Well, we didn't get a super hero bounce house, but he was just as happy with this Cars version.

Amanda got Holton this huge Spider Man pinata! (more on that later) His cousin Clayton was very excited about getting a crack at it!

Holton's little girlfriend Kaylee (what he told me on Sunday!)
So the pinata...yah, I completely forgot to put candy inside of it!! After all the kids worked so hard on destroying Spider Man, my nephew pointed out that it had zero candy inside! Can we just blame it on pregnancy brain/post prego brain. Oh boy, I felt like a total idiot so I threw about 4 lolli pops on the ground and ran away.

Speaking of food, a shout out to Adam for cooking the awesome rock shrimp from Florida. Here is our chef hard at work.

We had a great time celebrating our big guy's birthday with our family and friends!

But he was pretty worn out at the end of the day!

Halloween

With Holton being the older brother, he pretty much dictated the theme for this year's Halloween. He is in the whole super hero phase right now and wanted to be Iron Man.

He was then adamant that Baby Baby be a super hero too. So here we are!

We wanted some pictures of the boys on their first ever Halloween together. Weston was just not feeling it.

Thank goodness for a pacifier.

Holton went trick or treating with our next door neighbor, Hallie aka Dora the Explorer

They had a great time trick or treating!

It was a great night and Holton finally put his mask on for one last picture. (He said he didn't want to wear it because he wanted everyone to know that it was Holton)

One month old!

It's so hard to believe that our little Weston Kirk is already one month!! Time has gone by so quickly.

To mark the occasion, he got dressed up with his tie. Isn't it cute? Got it off the best website ever - Etsy. Each month he'll have on his fancy tie to mark the milestone. We can't wait to see how much bigger he is each and every month.

Pumpkin Patch

Last week Amanda and I decided to take the kids to a local pumpkin patch. We were going to take Mr. Weston, but he was pretty fussy that day, so he stayed home to spend time with daddy. But, he didn't want to miss out on all the fall spirit - so he wore his little Halloween onesie.

It was so much fun to take Holton and his little cousin Sutton to her very first pumpkin patch! Isn't she just the cutest, chubbiest little pumpkin ever! We just adore her.

Holton was able to pick a big ole pumpkin that he's just dying to carve for Halloween (he doesn't understand why we can't do this now!)

Holton was pretty tuckered out after taking advantage of all the activities. He slept good that night!

Next year we'll be able to take both of our little guys, but for now it was sure great to spend time with Holton and sweet Sutton.

Family photos

We had our very first professional photos done at our house recently. The key is to do these very early on so that Weston can be posed in any ole adorable position and so that he'll be sleepy (aka, easy to work with).

We had the best photographer. Her name is Leah and local folks, she's wonderful! Leah is the same gal who did the photos of Patrick, Amanda and sweet Sutton.

Holton was SO good during our photo shoot. I just love the pictures of our two boys.

Here are some pictures from my phone of little Weston. She was able to put him into all kinds of cute poses.

And here is the link to Leah's website that has a sneak peek of our photos.

They are all so great! We can't wait to have the final product so we can send out our little Weston's birth announcement.

Playing catch up

I know I've been neglecting my blog duties, but I tell you it's been tricky juggling two little guys!

Holton has been wonderful to Weston. He seems to really enjoy being the big brother/helper. But, he's not really keen on sharing his mommy and daddy. That part is still a work in progress.

Here are a couple of pics of our little Weston from about 2 weeks ago. You can see his little hickey on his head, but it's all gone now!

We have several pictures of Weston sleeping in this pose. He looks pretty cool, doesn't he!

Love this little shirt. This is a typical position for Weston. He really enjoys looking around - he's been so alert since day one. But let me tell ya, he wants you to keep moving. Often times he'll get bored of the same scene. So we do a lot of walking around the house.

I'll do better at posting updates, I promise! Next I'll share with y'all the pics from our family of 4 photo shoot.

Baby Baby has arrived!

This post is about 2 weeks over due! It's taken me a little bit longer to catch up on sleep & get my ducks in a row. But on to our big news! We were so blessed on September 22nd with the birth of our sweet Weston Kirk. He was 8 lbs 3 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. Thankfully all is well!

Our delivery was a little more tricky than anticipated. My blood pressure was acting up the whole time which caused Weston's heart rate to continually drop. Yep, I got to rock the cool oxygen mask the entire delivery.

And then our little fella was facing the wrong way and there was talk of an C-Section. Thankfully he turned around and we were ready to roll. But, our sweet little guy just wanted to hang out in there. During the delivery his heart rate was very low. Our doctor was concerned and decided to use the vacuum to help get him out.

Finally he came on out into the world (in a room suddenly full of hospital staff - hello strangers!) So Weston had a nice little hickey on his head. Hopefully that will be the only type of hickey he'll have until he's 30.

Holton was so proud to wear his big brother shirt. He was immediately helpful with his baby bro. He's helping his daddy try and burp Weston.

Weston was ready to leave the excitement of the hopstital and head on home.

A big thank you to our family and friends that came to the hospital to share in our joy. Weston is truly loved by so many and we are so blessed to have such wonderful people in his life.
