Mavs Mania

In case you may have forgotten, or blocked it out, our Dallas Mavericks are officially the world champions! All I can say is the King household was totally taken over by Mavs Mania.

The day the Mavericks flew back to Dallas, Adam let Holton play hooky so they could go welcome the Mavs home.

Holton is his new championship gear.

And here are few pictures Adam took of the Mavs arriving back in the Big D!

Like I said, we were all consumed with the Mavericks. So of course we had to take Holton downtown for the big parade that Mark Cuban generously paid for....good ole Dallas is broke!

The crowd was unreal! We couldn't believe the number of people down there. So we ducked out a little early and enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch. But it was a once in a lifetime thing & we were so happy to share it with Holton.

Growing up too fast - 9 months!

Before we know it, Weston is going to be one! Can't believe how fast his first few months are just flying by us.

Here are some fun facts about our baby!
• He's the best eater! We are now in the table food phase & he likes it all!
• If he sees you eating, he reaches for your food and makes sure that you share.
• He's still very tall - in the 93rd percentile.
• He is the happiest baby and is still a great sleeper for us.
• He is crawling like crazy!
• He is constantly holding a little plastic bat.
• He loves to try and play with his big brother.

Learning to swim

Holton just wrapped up his first ever swim lessons. For 2 weeks he was instructed on the basics of safety, putting his head under water, kicking, etc. He really enjoyed it and was very proud to show off his skills.

A minute long video of him in action

YouTube Video

But did I mention it's extremely hot in Texas during the summer? We've been rocking the 100+ temps so Holton was just dying for a nice snow ball treat. Here is our little beginner swimmer.

8 months...already!!

Our sweet little Weston is 8 months old! Wow, how the time does fly right on by. I need it to slow down a bit.

Weston is still the happiest baby. We are sooooo blessed to have such a fantastic baby! Just look at him, he's always smiling!

So what is new with Weston at this stage?
*Well....a week before he hit the 8 month mark he started crawling! He is now into everything.
*He is a squirmy little guy! He's constantly moving around when you hold him.
*He loves to eat! He will a ton of solid food. But he pretty much prefers the smooshy kind - none of those fun Gerber snacks yet.
*He is very, very vocal. Always making noises and saying da-da. Still hasn't mastered ma-ma.
*Weston has the best laugh! You can never be in a bad mood when you are around him.
*He loves, loves, loves his big brother. His face lights up when he sees Holton.

We just adore you, Weston xoxoxo

Better late than never!

I do realize it is June and that Easter was several months ago, but better late than never is my motto (well, at least when it comes to this blog).

Patrick and Amanda hosted a beautiful lunch and Easter Egg hunt at their house. They had tons of family over and we all had a great time. Amanda is such a little decorator. Each kid had their own pile of Easter stuff. Holton couldn't wait to dig in.

Grandma and Grandpa with all of their Grandkids!

Weston had a great time playing with his cousin, Sutton. It's so much fun to see them interact, especially since they are only 2 months apart. Anyhoo, Sutton wore Weston out. He won't be in any more of the pictures as he was enjoying a nice long nap.

The kids right before the Easter Egg hunt.

Love this picture of Holton with Kiersten & Clayton! He adores them!

We all had so much fun. Thanks for a wonderful day, Patrick and Amanda. Sorry it took me so long to update!

Disney World

The week that we visited Florida just happens to be one of the busiest times of the year for Disney World. We stressed about whether or not we should tackle the lines and the crowd. But how could we be in Orlando and not take our boys?

We of course gave in to that guilty feeling & we did it! We made it through a day at Disney World with a 4 year and a 6 month old!

We arrived just in time for the parade. Weston was more interested in eating.

Holton was so happy that this guy said hi to him.

Starting to look a little tired here

Weston having fun

Can you tell how hot they are?

Check out the guy behind Holton. That is a classic "photo bomb" and he realizes it just as I take the picture.

I'm so glad we made it to Disney World. Holton had a blast and we are looking forward to going back when Weston is old enough to enjoy it all.
