Back at home, the virus starts to hit Adam and me. It was awful! So awful that Adam actually blacked out for a minute and hit his head on the toilet! I was so worried, but Adam insisted he was just fine. Now that we’re all better, he has a nice shiner to show off around town.

How Holton indirectly caused a black eye
It’s been about two weeks since Holton was sick, so of course he was due for another bug of some type. Thursday night he came down with some stomach virus and poor thing couldn’t keep any food down. We even tried Pedia Lite and that didn’t work. Just before we leave for the doctor’s office that afternoon Adam and I agree that we are starting to feel very sick. But, we had to get Holton checked out first. So, off Holton and I go to the doctor’s office while Adam stays home because he’s feeling extremely sick. Holton was given the all clear by the doctor. He was suddenly one hungry fella who kept all of his food down!

It’s not really the “coolest” story, but hey, at least Adam will fit it in at Talladega this weekend. NASCAR, here we come!

Our first vacation away from Holton
Holton is doing much better and is over his RSV, so we decided to go on a vacation that was planned months ago. We went to Cancun with our good friends while Nana and Papa took care of our little man.
Check out our view!
This was the first time I've ever been away from Holton, so it was really hard on me. On the second day, we ate at a restaurant where they filmed the Tom Cruise "classic", Cocktail. It was a great lunch and a beautiful day, but then I saw a family with a baby. I lost it! I cried and was so bummed out all that day. But somehow, I don't think Holton missed us too much.....judging by this picture.
Mom and Dad who??
We had a great time on our trip. We even had massages on the beach, but it was so fantastic to get home to Holton. He is now being smothered with hugs and kisses.

Easter

Happy Easter! We celebrated Easter in Sulphur Springs. Holton was able to see so many relatives. He spent time with his Grandma, Great Grandma, Great Grandpa, his Uncles, cousins and more! Holton soaked up every minute by scanning the room for all activity. He didn't even want to take a nap for fear he'd miss something! Hope you all had a great weekend.

A rough week
Last week was pretty stressful around our house! Holton was really sick with a fever, coughing and the most pitiful moaning. We took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with RSV, a respiratory virus. We had to start him on breathing treatments that day. He didn't really like them too much at first and squirmed all around trying to get away from the mask. But, he eventually relaxed and sat there with his mouth wide open. The doctor’s office warned us to take him to the hospital if he got too bad, but they didn’t give us clear guidelines. Adam and I being the first time parents had quite a time trying to judge the situation.
But, we are happy to report he is doing much better and is back at “school”. He's now down to 3 breathing treatments a day and we go back to the doctor next week. We are so grateful that Holton didn't have to go to the hospital. To document our lovely week, Adam created this video of Holton's breathing treatments. Notice the credits at the end!

Holton's girlfriend
Our friends Dee and Casey came over on Sunday with Dee's mom and Casey's parents. It was great to see them and even better for Holton to see Dee & Casey's baby...Kaylee! Dee and I have been friends since the 6th grade, so we're convinced that our kids will fall in love and get married. Then we'll be in-laws and we'll all go to the NASCAR races in our big travel trailer. Hey, we can dream, can't we? Anyway, here are some pictures with Holton's "girlfriend" ;)
Kaylee is such a happy baby
He's excited, but I think Kaylee is more into her diaper bag!
All right, got that pesky bag out of the way. Now Holton is really happy!
He's worn out after a day of flirting

Doctor's visit
Yesterday was Holton's 4 month appointment with the pediatrician. He is healthy and seems to be progressing well. Holton currently weighs 14 pounds 4 ounces and is 25 inches long. He was very happy when the doctor leaned in close to talk to me during the examination. Ol' flirty Holton was all smiles and giggles! She thought it was because we were talking about solid foods, but I assured her that he is quite the ladies man. His mood quickly turned when the nurse gave him his 4 shots (vaccines). Being the tough guy that he is, he calmed down after I walked with him for a while. He's doing really well, now if we could just get him to sleep through the night!

First visit to the park!
Not that he'll remember it at all, but we took Holton to the park for the very first time! We needed to entertain our niece and nephew, Kiersten and Clayton, who were in town for Spring Break. So we loaded up Holton and his cousins and we had a great time at our neighborhood park. Holton was in hog heaven watching everyone. He only got fussy when we put him back in his car seat to leave.
Below is another slide show with a few pictures of the park and Holton with his cousins. They were so sweet to him this week! Another side note - Adam is still alive! He just isn't in any of the pictures because unlike me, he is very healthy and seemed to be working out whenever we took pictures. Enjoy the new slide show.
