A mover and a shaker

Holton will be eight months old next week and he seems to be changing so fast. His favorite activity now is trying desperately to crawl. He gets so frustrated when he can't get his arms and legs to move at the same time. It's pretty funny! He just drags himself across the floor ever so slowly. Give him a week and he'll have it figured out.

Here are some recent pictures of Holton's visit with his Na Na and Pa Pa. They brought him his first cowboy hat. Hey, he's got to live up to his Texas name!

He speaks!!

Ok, not really, but we thought that would get your attention. This past weekend, just in time for Father's Day, Holton started mumbling some sounds. Wouldn't you know it, he started to say Da Da. Da Da eventually turned into a version of Dad. Really, it did! Adam was so proud on Sunday that he took some video of Holton's ramblings. Enjoy!

Six month pictures

Here are some of Holton's six month pictures from Kiddie Kandids. I think he looks quite handsome, if I do say so myself! Notice my hand in the last picture...ha ha.

After nearly 7 months of debate, we finally figured out who Holton looks like. Check out this picture of Adam when he was 7 months old - you can click on the picture to see a larger version. You be the judge!

Memorial Day Weekend

Grandma and Grandpa Kelly came in for the Memorial Day Weekend. Oh, how Holton is spoiled! Mom made sure to bring him lots of new clothes and toys. He is getting bigger and puts everything in his mouth, so he was very happy with new things to keep him entertained.

It was great for Grandpa to see Holton in a fun, playful mood. During the last visit, Holton was extremely fussy due to teething. This time around he was so much better! Holton laughed and laughed when Grandpa would tickle him.

See, Holton can be a happy little baby!

Uncle John also happened to be in town visiting friends, so he stopped by. Holton was very inspired by John! John spent the day at Bass Pro Shops and we took Holton the next day. He had a great time looking at all the big fish. But, he got a little scared when one swam up out of no where. Poor little guy!

Here he is relaxing in his morning bath. Don't you know he's going to kill me in about 15 years for posting such a picture on the world wide web!
To finish off his weekend, Holton had his 6 months pictures taken. They turned out really cute and I'll post some of them later this week. Hope you all enjoyed the Holiday Weekend.

Par-tay!

A couple weeks ago Holton went to his first official party! Our friends Holly and Jay celebrated their son’s (Dylan) 2nd Birthday. They have a beautiful back yard with a great pool.

Dylan with his cake!

It was a weekend of firsts for Holton. His first party and his first time in a swimming pool! Holton really enjoyed swimming. He was kicking his little legs in the water and was all smiles…..for about 5 minutes. Then I think he realized he was wearing a very soggy diaper and he wasn’t too thrilled. We will get him back in the pool this summer. Hopefully he will enjoy it more now that he has some hip and trendy 6 month old swim trunks!

My first Mother's Day!

I had a great first Mother’s Day weekend. On Saturday we loaded up for East Texas. First, we stopped at Uncle Roy and Aunt Yvonne’s house to spend time with quite a bit of family. Holton got to see his Na Na and Pa Pa, meet Uncle Glyn and Aunt Karen, and he roamed around Roy and Yvonne’s beautiful house and land. I swear, Holton is such a country boy. He loves to be outside! Yvonne showed us their lake and even their donkeys! Holton had a really good time looking around at all the sights!

Then we headed over to see Grandma Vali, Patsy and all of the crew. Holton stayed up late visiting with all of his Uncles and Bill. He didn’t really sleep too much (probably from all of his excitement). I woke up Sunday morning to Adam putting a very runny nosed Holton down on the bed. All I could think is why haven’t you cleaned his dang nose! Then I noticed that Holton was chewing on a Tiffany & Co. bag! It was so sweet! Adam did such a great job with my first Mother’s Day present. He got me a beautiful bracelet with Holton’s name engraved on a heart locket. I just loved it! He also gave me the cutest card from Holton…..scribbles and all!!

I am so thankful to have such a great family and I am so proud to be Holton’s mommy! Even if he is a little high maintenance right now! Anyway, hope you enjoy the new pictures.
