Who needs tonsils anyway?

Exactly one week ago Holton had his tonsils and adenoids removed.  The whole goal is to help him sleep better because....um....his tonsils were huge! I won't post the gross pics (just text Adam if you want to see them).

Anyhoo, Holton was such a great patient for the surgery!
Papa and Nana were sweet enough to come to the surgery center and brought Holton a penguin for the surgery.  Bev was also sweet to watch Weston (I'll have to update you on that character on my next post.....hand full!!)
Poor little fella post surgery.  But, he did great!  Me on the other hand...not so much.
At first the recovery was smooth sailing!
But then the wonderful steroids wore off and Holton didn't do so well with the pain.
And Weston didn't really help with the recovery process.  Ha, ha.  Holton was not feeling the brotherly love....at all.
So this was last night.  We made Holton get out of the house and try to eat.  Can you tell how big of a success that was?
But today Dr. Adam is on the job and says that Holton is doing much better.  Our goal is to get him better ASAP as he starts kindergarten in a week!  And I will once again be a basket case ;)

I know....I'm sorry!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, pretty sure my mom is the only one who ever reads this blog.  But I must admit I do feel terrible that I haven't posted anything since April!  Geez.....a lot has happend since then.

Ok, time to get this blog back on track!

Moves Like Jagger?

My favorite part of this short dancing video is the first 10 seconds...when Holton wasn't aware of me filming him. Notice how quickly I turn the camera. Ha ha!

What can I say? My boys love some good ole Justin Bieber music. (they will hate me for this one day).

The Great Game

The spring season of baseball officially kicked off this past weekend.  Each year the leauge has a little parade for all the teams.  Family and friends lined up the ball park to watch each of the teams march down with their banners.

Holton is so excited that this year he is on the Rangers!!  He's 2nd from the right.

That's our number 6!

This is the part where the announce each team and they get to show off their banner.  Now, we didn't win, but I think it's really cute!

Holton had quite a crew for his first game.  Patrick, Amanda, sweet Sutton, Uncle Mouthy (aka Nicholoaus) and my dad were all there!

Ok, so it's technically t-ball...but why split hairs on the specifics.  Holton did great and hit the ball on his first swing with each turn.

He really wants to get a home run. If he does that, Adam said he would buy him an Ian Kinsler jersey. Holton is excited about working toward that goal!

It was so great to have my dad at the game.  With his crazy work schedule, he's never been able to attend one of Holton's baseball games.

Oh ya, notice the eye black...Holton really wants to be just like Ian Kinsler.
He even wears his blue socks like his idol.

Thank you to Holton's fans for coming to the game!

Snow for Spring Break? Yes, please!

We had such an awesome Spring Break this year.  We all loaded up and drove to Keystone for a week of skiing and fun in the snow.  My mom was nice enough to go along with us to watch Weston during the day, and cook at night.  (Aren't mom’s the best?)  Thank you, Bev!

We joined our good friends Holly and Jay for the trip.

They have 2 sweet kids, Dylan and Jayda.  Holton, Dylan and Jayda all took ski
lessons.  I’m happy to report no one was injured and they seemed to really have fun!

This was Holton’s very first time to ski or go on a gondola.  He loved it!

The kids also loved the snow fort.

Snow tubing was a big hit too!  Except Holton got a little scared when four of us tried to go together.

Adam is a much more advanced skier than me.  I pretty much rock the green slopes. Adam took advantage of the night skiing and our boys that that was very cool.

Notice Holton's snow ball maker.  And we had to take this pic at the top of the mountain to someday prove to Weston that we let him out of the condo!

I finally conquered my fear of the evil ski lift (may have had a cry session the fist time) and I took lessons to learn how to ski. That is a must for any first time skiers.  Made all the difference in the world!

Holly and me with Holton and Dylan.

Grandma took Weston outside to play and put him in this cute (?) outfit!

I think the boys would have loved to just play in the snow, ride the gondola and ride the shuttle bus around town. They were very easy to please on this trip.

We had a wonderful time on our trip.  So much so that we are thinking of making this an annual tradition. We will definitely be looking back on this trip very fondly when it's 112 this summer in the Big D!

Bath time boys

Tonight at bath time Holton insisted I take a picture of him & Weston in the bath.

I mean, it can't get much more precious than this!

Oh, the difference a couple minutes make.
