What's old is new again

Holton’s Na Na and Pa Pa visited last weekend and brought a box of Adam’s old toys for Holton. He was particularly fond of a green toy tractor. I know this makes all of our East Texas family very proud ;)

Doing much better

Holton has recovered from his latest illness quite nicely. He was kind enough to pass some of the cold like smptoms off to me. Oh well, that's just being a parent for you.

Anyhoo, to show you how he's feeling better, here are some pics of Holton and his new toy. Grandma and Gramndpa Kelly (my parents) sent him a care package with this new, rather large, toy. He had a great time with it.

Oh boy! A huge toy to swollow the living room. (Hey, if it keeps him away from the stairs, we're happy!)

He wasn't too sure about things at first!

He was more confident after seeing Adam in there. (Notice Gus running away in the picture)

Triple threat

Holton had a really bad case of the Mondays (for all the Office Space fans out there). I took him to the pediatrician yesterday morning to find out that he

1. Has pink eye in both his eyes
2. Has his 1st ever ear infection
3. And, that his molars are coming through his gums

Here is a picture to see just how sad he looked yesterday. Poor little fella.

Some 14 Month Facts

I'm bad about not giving milestone updates, so here are just a few tidbits on Holton now that he's 14 months old.

• He says “woof, woof “ whenever Gus (our dog) barks
• He now says “hi” and will say it over and over....and over
• He's almost mastered the art of walking - so funny to watch

• He still fits into most 12 month clothes, but he has a pot belly
• He likes to kiss his girlfriend, Kaylee

• He waves bye when we pick him up from school
• He’ll also wave whenever we open or shut the curtains
• He giggles a lot now – very funny to hear
• He doesn’t require a bottle (take that Suri Cruise)
• He eats like a pig and even does sign language to let you know he’s hungry

• He pretty much sleeps through the night (is 5:45 AM the night??)
• He is awnry and loves for you to chase him
• He gets cuter every single day.

December wedding in North Dakota...why not?

Last week Adam, Holton, my parents and me all traveled to Dickinson, North Dakota to attend a family friend's wedding. I have a lot of respect for the people living in ND. Good night it was cold!! We saw actual ice fisherman with their cars out on the ice covered lakes. Our car read 17 degrees - see I have proof!

I was scared at this point!
These are trees!

Even if it was freezing cold, we had a great time. The rehearsal dinner, wedding and the big reception was a blast. Unfortunately, Holton tuckered out before the dancing started. Adam had to take him back to the room while I partied with my parents. Actually my dad did most of the partying, but we'll save that story.

Congratulations, Kristi and Darren! Enjoy the pics below.

What do you do when it's cold outside? Play at Wal Mart (reference the Bass Pro Shops post below - we are classy)

Enjoying the rehearsal dinner. They served "Knoephle Soup " a ND tradition. They even serve it at KFC! Who knew?

Holton with Grandpa in the hotel room. We had a pool side view...an indoor pool

At the reception with Grandma and Grandpa

Our little family. By the way, Adam didn't like Holton's outfit. I won't tell you what he said.....

This is Holton flirting with one of the photographers. He already has some nice moves.

With Kristi, the pretty bride. Best wishes to the happy couple!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays everyone. We'll post pictures of Christmas soon. It was really fun as Holton started walking quite a bit. We have video of that too - I know you are all dying to see it.

We're off to a friend's wedding in North Dakota!! Think of us in the 30 and below temperatures ;)

My guys

We recently took our first family portrait. That was an adventure! Holton was really tired and wasn't feeling too photogenic that day. Not to mention that I realized half way thru a button was open on my shirt - awkward.

Anyway, I just love this picture of my two handsome guys and wanted to share.
