Here Comes the Bride...East Texas Style!

A few picture with Adam's Grandma, Patsy, before we headed out for the wedding. Side note - we are starting to notice a trend with Holton not wanting to be in pictures. And he now says he doesn't know how to smile.

Hmmm...I think Weston is picking up on the trend. But both our boys looked so handsome!

Isn't the house beautiful? Yes, they got married outside...in Texas...in August...in a record breaking year of heat. But, it all looked so fantastic! The sweating was definitely worth it! I can't wait to see their professional pictures.

Love this picture of the groom (Patrick) with his mom (Vali).

Vali & Adam

All of the handsome guys!

Bill with the boys. See that thing in Holton's hand? That is the fan to help cool off the guests AND it was the program! I loved the picture on the front and think it was such a genius idea for a hot Texas night.

Holton looked so handsome in the wedding party. Look how good he did! We were very proud of him.

The only clear/non fuzzy picture I have of sweet Sally in her beautiful dress!

Here are two fuzzy pictures from my phone of the happy couple. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes!!! We are so happy for you and wish you the very best.

Getting our rehearsal on!!

Let's get back to the East Texas wedding! Adam's younger brother, Patrick, married his adorable Sally!

Both Holton and Adam were a part of the big day. Well of course you have to rehearse for the main event.

Their matching outfits

Our rehearsal didn't get off to a great start. Poor Holton was feeling extra shy and had a hard time walking with strangers in front of strangers. Can you see him crying here?

But we we went inside and had a big talk about this special day (and maybe the promise of a toy) and we had a new Holton!

We then headed to the rehearsal dinner at the country club. My talented mother in law created these cute center pieces.

Holton was a big hit with Adam's Uncle, Clay. How cute are these pics?

Weston getting some love from Patrick, aka the groom!

Weston was a big fan of the jewelry that night!

I think this is a great picture, if I do say so myself.

Next up I will post pictures of the beautiful, but hot, wedding!

It can't be....11 months!

This year is going by way too fast! How can Weston already be 11 months old? Please slow down!

So this is Weston's famous snort face. He does this a lot and he make the whole sound effect too. Yes, he will hate me for this when he's older.

Ok, no more pictures!

Weston LOVES crawling up the stairs. Ya, not good when you have a tile floor.

Holton adores his little bro! Just love these two boys together.

I may cry thinking about Weston's 1 year update! Seriously, this whole time going by deal needs to slow down for just a bit. Let us enjoy this cute baby stage a little longer.

Sutton Bear is 1!

At the end of July we celebrated our sweet niece's 1st Birthday party! Sutton's cousins were very excited to be at her party! Clayton & Kiersten

We had to squeeze in a family photo. Weston was ready to party.

My sister-in-law is just like ole Martha Stewart (well, not personality wise). Check out the adorable cereal bar for the little kids.

Weston enjoyed the perfect snack from the "bar"

The kids loved the wet bounce house. So did a few adults, but I won't embarrass them.

Weston had a good time in the little pool. We were still rocking the 100+ temperatures here in the Big D.

Sutton was ready for some cake!

We had such a great time celebrating Sutton's 1st Birthday. We are so blessed that Patrick and Amanda are so close and that we can enjoy these milestones together. We sure love you, Sutton!

A week without mom & dad

Holton recently went to spend a whole week with his Papa and Nana. They live a couple hours away and they wanted Holton to have some big guy time in their neck of the woods.

First, Holton got to hang out with his little cousin Charlie. How cute is that guy??? They had such a great time playing together each day!

A big part of why Holton went to visit was to attend Vacation Bible School. We thought it would be great for Holton to go!

He had so much fun hanging out with new friends.

And we are so impressed with our big boy for learning a new song about God and his "recipe for me". Makes me one very proud mom to know he's gaining a better understanding of God's love for us. And it doesn't hurt that he got himself dressed in this lovely mismatched outfit.

Thank you to Papa & Nana for coming to get Holton and let him spend time with y'all.

It's wedding time!

Next week we will be celebrating another Southern wedding!! Adam's younger brother is getting married!

Adam also has a sweet brother named Patrick. And speaking of sweet, he's marrying the most adorable gal named Sally. Just look at these two!!

In prepration for the big day, Weston wanted to help by attending one of Sally's bridal showers. Here he is with Vali enjoying some punch (he loved it!)

And I'm proud to say that Holton will be in the wedding! Adam has already been talking to him about what it means to be in a wedding, what all he'll do etc. I'm sure it will all be beautiful!

But if Mother Nature would like to give us a break next weekend with the triple digit temps, we won't object at all!

Weston's World

Our last post didn't have too much about Weston, so how about we give our little guy some attention!

Weston is 10 months old now! So what is new in his world? Let's see....

• He's not yet walking, but we do catch him standing on his own for a few moments.
• He is into everything and totally keeps you on your toes - he gives you a very good work out.
• Food is still a big deal to him. Some of his favorites are macaroni and cheese, blueberries, his cousin Sutton's birthday cake and whatever you are willing to share!
• He now loves to scream and growl with an attentive audience.
• Sesame Street seems to catch his attention....for a few minutes.
• Last week he had his first experience with the stomach bug. Poor fella was sick all night long but seemed to bounce back a couple days later.
• I've never seen such a daddy's boy baby, but Weston is for sure. And everyone says he's Adam's little twin.
• He is still such a joy to us!
