Couldn't be better

For those of you that may not know, we had quite a health scare with Holton this past week. During this horrible time of uncertainty we had so many friends and family praying for us and you have no idea how much it helped us.

Well, we got the news yesterday that Holton is just fine! He has a low white blood cell disorder called Chronic Benign Neutropenia (sounds fancy, doesn't it). We just have to watch Holton if he gets a really high fever and we'll have to check his blood levels every 3 - 4 months. But, he's just fine!

Adam and I want to thank our friends and family for their support and prayers! We couldn't have gotten though this without you.

Looking for a few good women

Remember when I said that Holton has so many Uncles (six to be exact) that love him? This post is dedicated to the hopes that he will one day have some lovely Aunts in his life to spoil him. All of his Uncles are handsome, talented, intelligent guys. I’m just waiting for one of them to "pop the question". No pressure guys! I’m just saying that Holton would sure make a very cute ring bearer some day!

Anyway, here are some recent pictures of Holton with my brother Patrick and his girlfriend Amanda. Don’t they look so cute? Again, no pressure………I’m just saying……..

Amanda and Holton

Looks like Amanda is doing all the work here!

Holton is really trying to get Patrick's attention.
You be quiet, Patrick! You're going to listen to my "love" advice and like it.
It seems that Holton is praying on Amanda's legs.
"Please let me have an Aunt, please let me have an Aunt."

Busy, busy baby!

Hello everybody! We've been swamped with work and haven't updated in a while. Holton has had a busy couple of weeks! He is now saying ma ma, standing up in his crib, trying to drink out of the sippy cup, trying to eat big people food and he's had quite a few visitors.

Holton is blessed to have so many Uncles that love him. Adam's brother Chris came down from NY to spend some time with Holton. Chris is going to Culinary school so he even cooked for us (I tried to learn a few things, but it was hopeless). His Uncle John also stoppped by to spoil him.

Then, my dad made a last minute visit last weekend. Dad really enjoyed seeing Holton and kept saying how cute he was (well of course). It was great for Holton to spend time with his Grandpa. We only wish that Grandma and Grandpa weren’t so far away.

Anyway, here are some of the recent pictures. You can click on each one if you want a larger view.

The handsome boys! Adam, Chris and John

Uh....his new favorite toy is the wine rack. Hmmm.....
Holton finally likes his swing
Trying to learn how to use the sippy cup (most of the water is on his chin)
He loves his rocking chair! Thanks Barry and Carol!

All I want are my two front teeth

Alert the press! Holton has some more teeth in his little mouth! On Saturday, Holton’s front 2 teeth finally appeared. His poor gums were all swollen and he wasn’t in the best of moods all that day. Finally that night we could see two little "nubs" popping through. Adam felt that was the appropriate time to divulge that he had rather large teeth as a child. I’ve never heard any of this! He laughed and pointed out that Holton might just suffer from the same large teeth syndrome. I choose not to believe him. We’ll keep you posted.

Sulphur Springs Weekend

For Holton's 8 month birthday, we loaded up and went to Sulphur Springs. For those that don’t know, Holton is a high maintenance little guy. He doesn’t do well when we take him out of his routine and out of his element. Adam and I both love to travel, so I don’t know where Holton gets this from. Needless to say, he can get pretty fussy when we take him on road trips. I swear to everyone in S.S. that he is truly a happy little baby! He even laughs a lot!

We did manage to get some cute and happy pictures of Holton enjoying his busy weekend. He had quite a few adventures visiting with all his family, a play date with his cousin, and his first visit to a golf course (which I know makes all the men happy)! He is so inquisitive and loves to look around and take in all the sights. He gets a very serious look on his face when he's trying to figure things out. You'll see in the pictures - enjoy!

The buggy

When it’s not pouring rain in Texas, Holton's school takes the bigger kids in the class outside for some fresh air on the little red buggy. It seats six kids and they will ride around having a great time. Holton really enjoys the red buggy. Several times when I’ve picked him up, I find him outside having the best time. He’s just sitting there taking in all the sights and he looks like such a big guy. I get all excited and smile and wave and he just stares at me. No smile, no hint of recognition, nothing. It seems the little red buggy puts him in a trance and he can't focus on his poor mom.

Oh well, here are some pictures of him on the buggy with his little class mate. I don't know what kind of move he's trying to pull on her....hmmm.....

How to entertain Holton

Take a picture of him while he's learning to crawl.

Let him touch the cool tile floor and allow him some time to ponder whether or not he'll try crawling on it.

Take a picture of him while he's kicking back in his red wagon.

Let him check out his neighborhood.

Give him a toy box that he can crawl inside.

Again with the toy box....never mind all the toys....just let him have the box.

Have Gus pay any ounce of attention to him.

Let him crawl over to Gus and Gus not immediately run away from him.

Give him a water bottle. No toys necessary, a water bottle will do fine!
