I love New York!

Have you ever noticed that there a bunch of June birthdays? My b-day was last week and Adam's birthday is today! So to celebrate, we went to NYC for the weekend. We met Adam's friend Brian, who turned 40 on Monday! Brian's girlfriend Rachel lives in NYC and had the whole weekend planned for all of us.

The first day we took the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and then Ellis Island. It was a little cloudy and these are from my phone - sorry for the poor quality!

On Saturday AM Rachel took me to H&M. This is a very cool, cheap store that we don't have in Texas. Of course NYC has several H&M stores and guess what they had - a maternity section! It was fun buying cute, cheap clothes.

We then hit up a Yankee's game. The Yankees beat the Houston Astros, but we sat right behind a whole row of folks from TX. When Derek Jeter scored a home run, the crowd chanted "Derek Jeet-uh" Boy, they say we have accents.

Rachel's apartment has a great roof top patio with amazing views of NYC. The weather was perfect and we spent a lot of time up there enjoying all the sights including the Empire State Building.

Adam and his twin, Brian. Isn't it cute that they dressed alike?

On Sunday morning we walked to a local street fair. It's their version of the state fair here in Texas. They had tons of great food and bargains galore. Who wants some Egyptian Cotton Sheets for $20!

Finally, we had to take a picture of this. Who would have thought they were so concerned about those taxis honking their horns.

Some learning and a movie!

Adam and I recently had a Friday off so we loaded up Holton and went to cow town, aka Ft. Worth! They have a great science museum there. Hey, why not take him some place where he can learn a little something.

Holton loved the dinosaur exhibit. He thought it was all very cool. Check him out in the footprint.

Of course they had several hands on exhibits. Holton made sure to take full advantage!

They also had an IMAX theatre so we took Holton to his first ever movie!

We weren't sure how Holton would react to the movie since the screen was massive. You felt like the sharks were coming out of the screen. I may have had to look away a few times...maybe it's the pregnancy thing.

To prevent any freak outs we loaded Holton up with snacks. He refused to share his Twizzlers with us! Notice how proud he is over this fact.

We finished our day by heading to the Ft. Worth Stockyards (such a neat area). It was a fantastic little family Friday. And, Holton got some more smarts ;)

Gone Fishing!

Holton recently got to spend some time with his Papa and Nana. They have a town home right on a local lake. Needless to say, he's in little toddler boy heaven there because he gets to go fishing!

He loves, loves, loves fishing. He'll walk around the house with his fishing pole. And poor fella will even sleep with a rubber worm.

Here are some pics of their latest adventure. I'm sure the big old fish they caught was just camera shy.

On another note, kinda looks like I need to get Holton some longer shorts. Ha, ha, he's getting pretty tall.

Shower for Little Spice

Patrick and Amanda's baby will make it's debut in July. We are so excited to meet him or her!! Amanda's friends recently threw a baby shower for "Little Spice". It was a lot of fun!

Our niece Kiersten was able to come up for the shower and she had her eye on the candy from the moment we arrived.

Amanda's friend, Megan, had a beautiful home! It was the perfect setting for the shower.

Amanda got some great things for Little Spice. I'm sure Patrick was very happy with the new OSU gear!

New mommy Mandy (who promises she'll update her blog), Amanda and giant preggo me.

My mom and I enjoying the great weather.

The majority of Amanda's friends think she's having a boy. But I really think it's a girl. What do you think?

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there! So what are we doing to celebrate Mother's Day this year? Well, Adam is continuing his NASCAR tour of America. He'll be spending the weekend with several friends and my brother in South Carolina. They will be hitting up the big Darlington race.

Yes, yes, yes. I am a truly wonderful wife who said, sure, go enjoy yourself away from your family on Mother's Day. I mean, how could he pass up this kind of stuff?

This is his friend Joe at the Talledaga AL race....need I say more?

And I must admit that these shirts are pretty dang funny! (Thank you Adam for not joining in on the t-shirt fun).
Whatever you may do on Mother's Day, hope it is a good one! Have a great weekend.

Baby Baby's photo shoot

I had my routine doctor appointment today and they took some good pictures of Baby Baby. The sonogram tech kept commenting on how active he is and how much he kept moving. It was so fun to see all that action on the screen.

He loved covering his eyes with one arm. I sleep pretty much the same way and Adam always makes fun of me. (He's even taken unflattering pictures of me in my sleep to prove how weird I look)

And here is a side angle showing his arm still over his head.

We got a good shot of Baby Baby's feet together :)

And finally, he wanted to stretch out his legs for the last picture of the day. Notice he moved his arm from his head just as we were wrapping up.

The doctor said everything looks good with Baby Baby! Those are always fantastic words to hear.

Although I'm at 19 weeks, he's measuring at 20 weeks. But, my doc refuses to modify my due date. Maybe Baby Baby is just going to be a true Texas hoss!
