Playing catch up

I know I've been neglecting my blog duties, but I tell you it's been tricky juggling two little guys!

Holton has been wonderful to Weston. He seems to really enjoy being the big brother/helper. But, he's not really keen on sharing his mommy and daddy. That part is still a work in progress.

Here are a couple of pics of our little Weston from about 2 weeks ago. You can see his little hickey on his head, but it's all gone now!

We have several pictures of Weston sleeping in this pose. He looks pretty cool, doesn't he!

Love this little shirt. This is a typical position for Weston. He really enjoys looking around - he's been so alert since day one. But let me tell ya, he wants you to keep moving. Often times he'll get bored of the same scene. So we do a lot of walking around the house.

I'll do better at posting updates, I promise! Next I'll share with y'all the pics from our family of 4 photo shoot.

Baby Baby has arrived!

This post is about 2 weeks over due! It's taken me a little bit longer to catch up on sleep & get my ducks in a row. But on to our big news! We were so blessed on September 22nd with the birth of our sweet Weston Kirk. He was 8 lbs 3 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. Thankfully all is well!

Our delivery was a little more tricky than anticipated. My blood pressure was acting up the whole time which caused Weston's heart rate to continually drop. Yep, I got to rock the cool oxygen mask the entire delivery.

And then our little fella was facing the wrong way and there was talk of an C-Section. Thankfully he turned around and we were ready to roll. But, our sweet little guy just wanted to hang out in there. During the delivery his heart rate was very low. Our doctor was concerned and decided to use the vacuum to help get him out.

Finally he came on out into the world (in a room suddenly full of hospital staff - hello strangers!) So Weston had a nice little hickey on his head. Hopefully that will be the only type of hickey he'll have until he's 30.

Holton was so proud to wear his big brother shirt. He was immediately helpful with his baby bro. He's helping his daddy try and burp Weston.

Weston was ready to leave the excitement of the hopstital and head on home.

A big thank you to our family and friends that came to the hospital to share in our joy. Weston is truly loved by so many and we are so blessed to have such wonderful people in his life.

Finishing the nursery

We are finally wrapping up the baby's room. Adam worked so hard on the nursery by putting up crown molding and these cute decals.

They were such a pain, but he did a great job!

See how the circles on the wall match our Caden Lane bedding perefectly!

Now we just need to have our hospital bags packed. Baby Baby could make his debut any day now!

The dreaded trip to the dentist

Yes, I'm ashamed to admit that Holton will soon be 4 and we've yet to take him to the dentist. I know, I know....it's really bad of us. But Holton hates brushing his teeth. He acts like it's pure torture when we try to do this. So I couldn't imagine him making it through the dentist with their big, scary tools!

But we finally bit the bullet and Adam took Holton to his first dentist appointment today. (You know I couldn't take him - he's much tougher for his daddy).

I was so scared to get the update from Adam. But, guess who did fantastic? Apparently Holton was just awesome in there and Adam raved about the dentist.

Check out our brave little guy.

The best part of all is that Holton didn't have any cavities and he's very proud of his "sparkly" teeth!

P.S. - anyone in our neck of the woods need a good pediatric dentist, just holler. Adam was extremely impressed!

What a new pair of shoes can do!

Holton is like any other soon to be 4 year old boy. He loves Batman, Superman, Spider Man. While shopping last week I saw these Batman rain boots.

Well, lets just say they were a huge hit! Nice outfit, huh?

Holton loves to put the boots on and "do tricks". Here is video proof. By the way, he asked that I tape him performing. Ha!

Baby Baby's name

The day that we found out we were having another boy, I immediately knew we had to incorporate a certain name into the baby baby mix.

On March 13th, we unfortunately and very unexpectedly lost Adam's uncle. His name was Kirk and he was a truly fantastic man! He was the type of person that you want your son to grow up to be. Kirk was an amazing father, husband, brother and Uncle.

Adam just adored Kirk. They were very close and it was heartbreaking to lose him. So, we knew right off the bat that Kirk would absolutely be involved when naming baby baby.

I think this has a very nice ring to it, don't you?

I'm so honored that my baby boy will be named after such a wonderful man. He has big shoes to fill!

Another Baby Shower!

Last weekend my sweet friends threw a baby shower for me at home. I'm just kicking myself that I didn't get any pictures of the hostesses.

My wonderful hostesses were: Holly and Julie (who I've known since our sorority days back in 95'...you know they have good stories to tell), Dee (who I've known since the 6th grade!) and my wonderful sis-in-law, Amanda.

This is the only type of picture I have of the hostesses. There is Amanda, the back of Holly's head, and Julie holding her sweet Halstyn. Dee was probably behind the scenes cutting up food.

And speaking of food, check out the adorable cake! It matched the invitation perfectly.

Since there is no drinking for me, I was extremely excited about the cake!

Amanda with baby Sutton. She was so good during the shower.

Our neighbor, Susan, with her baby girl Alyssa.

Holly's mom, Bernice, and her Aunt, Mary Frances. Bernice is holding Holly's little girl Jayda. Holton is in hog heaven with all the girls in his life!

And here is Holton with his little girlfriend, Hallie. They are trying to help me open my presents!

How great is this shirt for Holton?

We're finally in the current century! We received a great video monitor for Baby Baby.

Papa and Nana got us these cute personalized burp cloths. I love them!

We received so many wonderful gifts for Baby Baby and we are so grateful. It's hard to believe we'll be a family of 4 in less than a month! Now, if only someone could give us some type of magic sleep dust for the baby, we'd be set!
